Why you'd want to live in Lakeshore
Lakeshore is a town near Lake St. Clair in Essex County, Ontario, Canada. The town was incorporated in 1999 by amalgamating the Town of Belle River with the townships of Maidstone, Rochester, Tilbury North, and Tilbury West. It is part of the Windsor census metropolitan area. The Town of Lakeshore is a focal point for all manner of economic, commercial and industrial activity. There are expanded utilities services, such as a new water treatment plant which is necessary because of the intense development which is planned and already taking place. Lakeshore has grown in population by more than 7,000 people since amalgamation and is now home to more than 35,000 residents. It has industrial areas, continually expanding commercial enterprises, a multi-screen movie theatre, new educational facilities and increasing numbers of new homes, both in areas previously built up and in entirely new subdivisions. The construction of our $60 million multi-use recreation facility - our Atlas Tube Centre brings a state of the art recreation facility to our Town. The facility consists of 3 ice pads, community rooms, dance studio, library, gymnasium, indoor walking track, and an aquatic facility which includes a 4 lane lap pool, zero entry pool and therapeutic pool. Outside, the facility hosts soccer fields, a splash-pad, 5 km multi-purpose trail, tennis courts and multi-purpose courts.
